Our story

At Greenwave Grappling, we believe jiu-jitsu is more than just a sport, it’s a vehicle for transformation. Every day, we help people build discipline, resilience, and confidence through jiu-jitsu, shaping stronger individuals and a more connected community.

Founded in 2025 in Fallon, Nevada, Greenwave Grappling was created to bring high-level grappling to our community. Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of men, women, and children grow through jiu-jitsu on and off the mats while pursuing progress, discipline, and getting better every single day.

What is Jiu-jitsu and Submission Grappling

Jiu-jitsu and submission grappling are martial arts built around control, leverage, and real resistance. Instead of trading strikes or practicing choreographed moves, students learn how to take an opponent down, control them on the ground, and finish the fight with joint locks and chokes safely, and with technique doing the heavy lifting.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on ground fighting and problem-solving under pressure. Submission grappling blends jiu-jitsu with wrestling, judo, and other grappling styles, often without the gi and with a heavier emphasis on live training. That means you’re learning what actually works against someone who’s actively trying to stop you, not a cooperative partner holding a pose.

It’s tough. It’s humbling. It’s addictive.

Jiu-jitsu and submission grappling are for people who want real skill, real conditioning, and real confidence earned the hard way. If you’re looking for flashy moves and point fighting, this probably isn’t it. If you want to learn how to handle pressure and stay dangerous when things get uncomfortable, you’re in the right place.
